Getting Around Cardiff

Airport
Cardiff is served by its own international airport with regular direct flights from the UK and Europe. Cardiff International Airport: The Airbus Xpress (X91) to Cardiff Central Station runs every half hour Monday to Friday from 05.20 - 23.35 and hourly on Saturdays and Sundays. £4 adult single fare/£7 return and £3 for child/£5 return. Trains run every hour from Cardiff International to Cardiff Central Station. Taxis cost around £15-£20. They accept various payment methods, such as credit cards and Euros. Note: Bristol International airport is only 1 hour away, with Continental Airlines flying direct from the States as well as EasyJet low-cost airline providing flights from Europe, including Germany, and within the UK. Birmingham, Manchester and London airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton) are also all easily accessible to Cardiff by high-speed InterCity train or coach.

By Car
Cardiff is right on the national motorway system. The M4 runs through the north of the city, making London a comfortable drive away. From the Midlands, the North of England and Scotland it is a straightforward drive via the M6, the M5 and the M50/M4. From the South and South West of England the approach is by the M5 and the M4. Access from West Wales is by the M4.

By Rail

By Sea
For those travelling from mainland Europe there is a wide choice of entry points to the UK served by many ferry companies. Ferry ports link with the national motorway system to provide fast and easy access to Cardiff.

Getting Around
Cardiff is a very compact city and can easily be explored on foot. Regular shuttle buses run between the city and Cardiff Bay and a waterbus runs from the Millennium Stadium to Cardiff Bay along the River Taff.
